Andrew N. Baldwin obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the City University, London in 1973. Following a period of working in the construction industry he studied at Loughborough University and obtained a Master of Science in Construction Management and subsequently a PhD degree in 1982. This was followed by a period in industry developing computer based systems for construction organizations. In 1989 he returned to Loughborough University as a Lecturer in Construction Management. In 1998 he was appointed Head of Department, and awarded a personal chair in Construction Management Systems in 2000. He joined Hong Kong Polytechnic University in March 2003.

His research interests include: modelling information flow and process modelling; improving supply chain management; design management; electronic data interchange; information exchange and the assessment of the business benefits of new technologies.
