Jane HAO obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from China in 1988 and a PhD degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2002. Before joining the University, she was a lecturer in Civil Engineering at Jilin Architecture and Civil Engineering Institute, China  for six years. She is also a member of both the Charted Institute of Building and the Australian Institute of Building.
