| Martyn became a Chartered Builder in 1990, obtained his MSc in Construction Management from the University of Bath in 1992 and his PhD in Business and Management from the University of South Australia in 1998. Before studying education full-time at Manchester University and subsequently becoming an academic, he had ten year's experience at management level in the construction industry. Martyn specializes in construction management and has a particular interest in contract administration; Longman published his first book on the subject, entitled Building Contract Procedures in Hong Kong, in 1995 and a revised e-book edition was published by Pearson Education in 2001. For his work with the Institute of Clerks of Works of Great Britain Incorporated and the Hong Kong Institute of Clerks of Works, he was elected an Honorary Fellow of both Institutes in 1995 and 2001 respectively. | |
