David Scott is Chair Professor of Construction Management. This position
means that a lot of the satisfaction comes from working with others in
the department. Much of the development and innovative work
in the department is done in teams. David leads or is involved
in many of these groups; CyberU, Subject review, Co-operative research
centre, new programmes, etc.
The sort of research things
he is working on at present (mostly its the students under his
supervision who
do most of the work he tries to inspire them with ideas) are; Information Systems and Knowledge based
systems (separately or together) for the construction industry.
More generally his interests are construction management, appropriate
technology, project feasibility and assessment processes.

He has worked in : UK, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Botswana, Nigeria for
significant periods. Also worked in Malaysia, PNG, Zimbabwe, PRC for
short periods.
